BAR Public Hearing Minutes <br />August 22, 2013 <br />Clarifying Question RE: Parking Requirement: <br />Staff provided background on the parking standard and explained the options in order for the <br />applicant to be in compliance with the parking requirements. <br />A color and materials board was entered into the record. <br />Staff is recommending approval with conditions number one through three as listed in the August <br />14, 2013 staff report and condition number four as rephrased at the August 22, 2013 Bar of Review <br />Architectural Review public hearing. <br />Public Testimony: <br />Pari Holliday, Site Development Manager, Darden Restaurants, gave some background on both <br />restaurants. Ms. Holliday thanked staff for working with them so closely with some serious <br />challenges in making the site work. Ms. Holliday also addressed questions. <br />Brent Carlsen, with Gorden Derr, Attorney for Westfield, stated that they have been working with <br />Darden, Macys, and City staff and they support staff's recommendations. Mr. Carlsen addressed <br />questions pertaining to parking stating Westfield is prepared to build the additional parking by the end of <br />the year if Council does not approve a revision of the parking standards. Mr. Carlsen said the plan has <br />been prepared and it will be submitted according to the schedule. <br />There was no additional public testimony. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />MOTION: <br />Commissioner Strander moved to approve Case Numbers L13 -011 and L13 -012 with staff's <br />recommendations and conditions, including the revisions to condition number four as noted above. <br />Commissioner Maestes seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br />Director's Report: <br />• Training Opportunity will be emailed to the Commissioners <br />• September's PC schedule - tentatively Tukwila Village and the Library will be on the agenda. <br />Staff will notify the Commission as soon as possible if these items are rescheduled to October's <br />agenda. <br />Adjourned: 7:50 PM <br />Submitted By: Wynetta Bivens <br />Planning Commission Secretary <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />
