City of Tukwila Washington Ordinance No. /6 g AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING THE 1992 KING COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN. WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila and King County have entered into long -term Solid Waste Interlocal Agreements, and WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila and King County adopted a Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan in 1990 (the Plan), and WHEREAS, the Plan satisfies the requirement of Chapter 70.95 of the Revised Code of Washington and King County Ordinances, and WHEREAS, the Plan is scheduled to be updated at least every three years, and WHEREAS, the King County Solid Waste Division has drafted an updated Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan for 1992 (1992 Plan), and WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila staff, Suburban Cities Association Emergent Issues Committee and suburban cities staff members have reviewed, and commented on, the proposed 1992 Plan as final, and WHEREAS, under the Plan King County and the suburban cities in the County achieved a waste reduction and recycling rate of 35% in 1992, and WHEREAS, the proposed 1992 Plan builds on the accomplishments of the City of Tukwila, the suburban cities, King County, and all of the citizens and businesses in our community in the areas of waste reduction and recycling, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City of Tukwila hereby adopts the 1992 Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan as recommended by the Suburban Cities Association Resolution No. 1. Section 2. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and publication as provided by law.
