CITY OF TUKWILA REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES To Develop Plans, Specification and Estimate for the Duwamish Gardens Habitat Project DUE: April 4, 2011 by 5:00 p.m. The City of Tukwila solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in providing Consultant Services. Consultants will be considered for the following project. PROJECT SCOPE The project involves design and permitting services for the construction of estuarine fish habitat on a 2.16 acre City owed site. A conceptual site plan has been developed by the WDFW and calls for the excavation of 55,000 cubic yards of material to establish approximately 2 acres of shallow water mudflat and marsh habitat and approximately 0.8 acres of uplands planted with native vegetation. Other work will include a small trail, overlook, and interpretive signs. The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of developing an archeological data recovery plan, Contract Plans, Specifications and Estimate (PS &E), and obtaining all required permits. Additional items may include the development of a contaminated soil remediation plan. SUBMITTAL Submittals should be limited to 15 pages, excluding resumes and any supporting information, and should include the following information: Firm name, phone and fax numbers; Name of Principal -In- Charge, Project Manager, and all proposed project staff. Submittals will be evaluated and ranked based on the following criteria listed in order of importance: 1) Relevant Project experience of key personnel with habitat restoration projects. Please include references for 3 relevant projects; 2) Approach to project; 3) Ability to pro actively keep projects on schedule and within budget; 4) Personnel availability including a manpower schedule for each key team member; 5) Firm's experience with habitat restoration projects. Please submit three copies of your Statement of Qualifications to: Ryan Larson, Senior Engineer, City of Tukwila Public Works, 6300 Southcenter Boulevard Suite 100, Tukwila, WA 98188 by April 4, 2011 no later than 5:00 p.m. No submittals will be accepted after that date and time. Consultant selection will be based on RFQ review and interviews on a date to be determined. The City will host one pre submittal meeting on site to answer any questions about the project. This will be the only time in the submittal process that reviewers will be available to answer questions on this phase of the project. This review meeting will be held on Monday March 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. on the project site located at 11269 East Marginal Way S.
