City of Tukwila <br />Planning Commission <br />Planning Commission Work Session Minutes <br />Date: October 24, 2013 <br />Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM <br />Location: City Hall Conference Room #3 <br />Present: Thomas McLeod - Chair, Louise Strander - Vice - Chair, Brooke Alford, <br />Mike Hansen, Sharon Mann, Cassandra Hunter <br />Absent: Miguel Maestes <br />Staff: Nora Gierloff - Deputy DCD Director <br />Topic Site Plan Training <br />DISCUSSION <br />There was no business for the PC/BAR so the Commission watched a webinar from the <br />American Planning Association titled Site Plan Review for Officials. It introduces the <br />role officials play in reviewing site plans and guiding the review process. It covers how <br />to read site plans, how to evaluate them in the context of their surroundings, and how <br />to share that knowledge with new commissioners. <br />The Commissioners discussed the training with staff and thought that it would be <br />helpful to give new Commissioners more detailed training on reading site plans when <br />they start.
