<br />CALL FOR BIDS
<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the City of Tukwila, Washington
<br />at the Office of the City Clerk, in Tukwila City Hall, 6200 Southcenter Boulevard, Tukwila,
<br />Washington 98188, up to the hour of 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011. Bids will be
<br />opened and publicly read aloud at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011 for:
<br />INTERURBAN AVE. S GRAVITY SEWER
<br />PROJECT NO 04 -SW08
<br />The Work to be performed within 60 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed consists of
<br />furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and other work or items incidental thereto for:
<br />Construction of approximately 1360 feet of 12" diameter sewer pipe from 14675
<br />Interurban Ave. South to South 144 St., 6 side sewers, 9 manholes and demolition of
<br />an existing sanitary sewer lift station near 14601 Interurban Ave. So. The work shall
<br />include, but not be limited to: saw cutting the existing pavement, trench excavation
<br />and trench safety system, installation of pipelines and fittings, connections to
<br />existing sanitation sewer system, utility relocation (if required), traffic control,
<br />disposal and haul, trench backfill and compaction, surface restoration, erosion
<br />control and associated work as further specified and shown in the contract drawings.
<br />Each bid shall be in accordance with the bid documents available free of charge on -line through
<br />Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc. at http: /www.bxwa.com. Click on: "bxwa.com "Posted
<br />Projects Public Works"; "City of Tukwila and "Project Bidding Bidders are encouraged to
<br />"Register as a Bidder" in order to receive automatic e -mail notification of addenda and to be
<br />placed on the "Bidders List This service is provided free of charge to Prime Bidders,
<br />Subcontractors and Vendors bidding this project. Contact Builders Exchange of Washington at
<br />(425) 258 -1303, should you require further assistance. Informational copies of any available
<br />maps, plans, specifications, and subsurface information are on file for inspection in the office of
<br />the Tukwila City Engineer, at the Public Works Department.
<br />All bid proposals shall be submitted according to the Information for Bidders and be accompanied
<br />by a bid proposal deposit in the form of a cash deposit, certified or cashier's check, postal money
<br />order, or surety bond made payable to the City of Tukwila, for a sum not less than five percent
<br />(5 of the amount of such bid, including sales tax. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into
<br />such contract and furnish satisfactory payment and performance bonds within the time stated in
<br />the specifications, the bid deposit /bond shall be forfeited to the City of Tukwila.
<br />The City of Tukwila hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contracts
<br />entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full
<br />opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on
<br />the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award.
<br />The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding and
<br />make the award as deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
