I SHIFT SUPERVISOR: j;q LOCATION OF INCIDENT: 11&0 1 0 0 2 A CASE DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE: From: Mike Murphy To: Press Date: 04/21/2011 9:42 PM Subject: Fatal Traffic Collision PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION At 7:26 P.M. today, Tukwila Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a car into the river in the 11600 block of 42 Ave S• in Tukwila. Officers and firefighters arrived to find a single car had left the roadway and slid down the bank into the Duwamish River. The car was too far submerged to make surface rescue possible. A dive team responded and recovered the decease occupant of the car. There was only one person, a woman, in the car. No further identifying' information will be released pending notification of family. Initial information at the scene indicates there was no foul play or law violations involved- it appears to be an accident. Tukwila Police traffic investigators are on scene reconstructing the incident. 42 Ave S remains closed in the area and will be for several hours. Mike Murphy Tukwila Police Dept.
