Office ~��� <br />�� the Mayor <br />City of Tukwila, Washington <br />PROCLAMATION <br />«_^��u of t/� _'� <br />WHEREAS, Tukwila Municipal Code (TMC) Section 2.57.030(l) empowers <br />the Mayor to proclaim a State of Emergency when an incident, whether natural or <br />man-made, requires immediate responsive action to protect life and property; and <br />WHEREAS, the City experienced a catastrophic failure of critical Information <br />Technology equipment, commencing on or about 3:00 a.m. on the 5m day of <br />September, 20i4;and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor has been requested by the Director of Emergency <br />Management of Tukwila to proclaim the existence of a local. State of Emergency <br />therein; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor does hereby find that the recent [I equipment failure <br />constitutes a State of Emergency, as defined by TMC Section 2.57.020 and Revised <br />Code of Washington (RCW) Section 38.52.010; and <br />WHEREAS, the aforesaid conditions necessitate the proclamation of the <br />existence of a local emergency in order to protect public property; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, lL Jim Haggerton, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do <br />hereby proclaim a State of Emergency within the City of Tukwila; and that during the <br />existence of said State of Emergency, the povvcr*, functions, and duties of the Director <br />of Emergency Management and the emergency organization of this city shall he those <br />prescribed by state law, hy ordinances, and resolutions of this city and approved by the <br />Mayor on September 10, 2014.
