RI 1R,E.AT II :)N <br />MINUTES <br />October 7, 2014 5:00pm Tukwila Community Center <br />Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Brian Kennedy at 5:00 pm. <br />Attendance: Commissioners — Cynthia Chesak, Brian Kennedy, Steve Mullet, <br />Student — Nandina Cengic <br />Staff — Stephanie Gardner — Parks and Recreation <br />Approval of Minutes: Minutes from the June 3, 2014 meeting were unanimously approved. <br />Citizen Comment: There were no Citizen Comments <br />Business Items <br />Tukwila Origins — Birthplace of Tukwila: presentation was postponed to a later date. <br />Facilities Plan Presentation: Dawn Couch from Berk Consulting and Bob Giberson the City's Public Works Director <br />presented the City of Tukwila's Facilities Plan. The presentation lasted for about 45 minutes and provided an <br />overview of the process to developing a facilities plan, where the City and consultants are in the process at this <br />point, and how the plan will be utilized in the future. The Commission provided feedback and asked clarifying <br />questions. <br />Local Area Arts Agency Follow Up: 4Culture held their September Local Area Arts Agency meeting at the Tukwila <br />Community Center (meeting was hosted by the Arts Commission). Brian Kennedy and Steve Mullet attended the <br />meeting and reported to the Commission their experience and take -a -ways from the meeting. <br />Other <br />• Community Pride Nomination Forms — Stephanie provided the Commission with Community Pride <br />Nomination Forms and asked that the Commission return their forms <br />• Volunteer Appreciation Social — Stephanie reminded the Commission of the Volunteer Appreciation Social <br />on October 9th at TCC. <br />• Cynthia Chesak and Nandina Cengic informed the Commission that Betty Gully will be posthumously <br />inducted into the Foster High School National Hall of Fame. <br />• Cynthia Chesak and Nandina Cengic provided information about fall High School drama performances. <br />Antigone will be performed on November 20 and November 21St <br />Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 pm. <br />Next Meeting: November 4, 2014 <br />
