ILAi q <br />Office of the Mayor <br />City of Tukwila, Washington <br />1908 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has designated the week <br />of May 10 through May 16 as National Police Week and May 15 as Peace <br />Officers' Memorial Day; and <br />WHEREAS, the law enforcement officer is our guardian of life and <br />property; defender of the right to be free; leader in the war against crime; and <br />dedicated to the preservation of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; and <br />WHEREAS, our community joins with other cities and towns to honor <br />all peace officers everywhere; as well as recognizes the service and sacrifice of <br />U.S. law enforcement; and <br />WHEREAS, the Tukwila Police Department will remember and honor <br />their fallen brother and sister officers by wearing a black band over their <br />badges on May 11; and <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of Tukwila also recognize May 11 as Peace <br />Officers' Memorial Day, when the flag at Tukwila City Hall will be flown and <br />half mast, In Memory of Many, in Honor of All; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, I, Jim Haggerton, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do <br />hereby proclaim May 11, 2015: <br />Peace Officers' Memorial Day <br />in Tukwila and urge all citizens to remember those officers who gave their lives <br />serving the public. <br />Signed this 4th day of May, 2015. <br />Gam._ <br />Jim Hag ,Mayor <br />
