r <br />VIII II�II I A� �U(a & 1 U C1 R E a 1F 10 N <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />June 2, 2015 5:00 p.m. Tukwila Community Center <br />Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Commission Chair, Steve Mullet at 5:05 pm <br />Attendance: Commissioners — Cynthia Chesak, Steve Mullet, Trisha Gilmore <br />Student Representative — Potential representative Daniel Humke <br />Staff — Stephanie Gardner - Brown, Parks and Recreation <br />Guests: <br />Approval of Minutes: Minutes from the April 7, 2015 meeting were unanimously approved. <br />Citizen Comment: There were no Citizen Comments <br />Business Items: <br />a. SeedArts — Tukwila Village Art Approval: Kathy Fowells and Mary Coss were scheduled to <br />attend the meeting however the meeting time had been mistaken. Staff will arrange an onsite <br />studio tour in the near future. <br />b. #DreamsUnlimited Progress: Nate Robinson provided a progress update on the <br />#Dreams Unlimited program. He reported that Tay and Val have hosted their first <br />practice and all went very well. Flyers and posters were being distribute d throughout <br />this the first week of June. The performance time has been readjusted to begin at 5 :30 <br />in hopes to capture the crowd of students as they depart the Teen Summer Kick -off <br />Festival. <br />C. 19th Annual Tukwila Fine Arts Show: The commission discussed the 19th annual art <br />show and would like to consider purchasing art in the future to add to the City's <br />collection. <br />d. Arts 1% Update: Stephanie will be meeting with Cath Brunner of 4Culture to discuss <br />hosting a workshop for staff and commission members regarding how to integrate art <br />into projects. She will also review the draft 1 % guidelines and procedures. <br />Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 pm. <br />
