City of Tukwfla Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />Police Department - Mike Villa, Chief <br />February 11, 2016 <br />6:30pm- 8:OOpm <br />Present: Commander McOmber, Chris Partman, Jerry Thornton, Robert Neuffer, Christine <br />Neuffer, Laurie Clark, Luis Gallegos <br />• Minutes for 1/14/15 meeting tabled due to lack of quorum <br />• Chief's update, by Commander McOmber <br />• Staffing, one officer short of full staffing <br />• Doing a background investigation on a new front office person <br />• Sgt. Boyd doing a lot of community outreach <br />• Posted the two positions for the grant - funded Community Outreach officer and <br />filled one of the two <br />• Sgt. Johnson was promoted to Commander in anticipation of retirement <br />• Person arrested and charged for shooting at Orchard last month <br />• Updated the evidence tracking software to be more mobile and flexible <br />• TAC team detectives assisted a MT. detective in finding a sexually exploited 17 <br />yr. old runaway <br />• Det. Cruz is Officer of the Year <br />• Question — Hearing on the news that about "officer ratios ". How is this <br />determined in Tukwila? Usually it is on population, however, Tukwila has only <br />19,000 residents and over 150,000 visitors daily. <br />• Discussion about response time to calls and reaction of officers. <br />• COPCAB Awards <br />• Trina Cook nominated <br />• Would like to have a decision by March meeting <br />• Good of the Order <br />Luis — introduced himself. Used to dislike school, but is now an honor student. <br />Played football, but did not like the roughness and quit after one game. Hopes <br />to play soccer this year. He lives here in Tukwila and is a sophomore this year. <br />Luis also knows and is trusted by many other students. <br />Robert Neuffer — They talk to a lot of neighbors and he is concerned with the <br />lack of participation. He is also concerned with online reporting and the loss of <br />an opportunity for a positive point of contact.
