One civilian opening <br /> • TPD implementing a body camera program. New legislation provides <br /> protections from some public disclosure provisions <br /> • When in use 60%fewer citizen complaints <br /> • Less L&I claims <br /> • 5-6 officers are part of the pilot program <br /> • Increases transparency <br /> • For a month at a time will use one vendor, then switch vendors (not <br /> officers) to assess different systems. <br /> • Cameras to be on during all citizen contacts. <br /> • Must advise all people who they contact that the encounter is being <br /> recorded. <br /> • First month's data in for SPRINT program <br /> • They have written a lot of tickets <br /> • Getting citizen "thank yous" <br /> • Goal is to target speeding and slow people down <br /> • Part of the program is also to engineer traffic calming measures by <br /> working with public works. <br /> • Focus is on the residential neighborhoods and schools <br /> • Boats and Mobile Command Post were out on the Duwamish River today <br /> looking for a homicide weapon which was dumped there <br /> Tukwila City Hall « 6200 SQuthcenter Boulevard .
