estimated funding. <br /> • Proposal will be presented to Arts Fund Committee for review <br /> • Arts Fund Committee shall consist of a representative from the Arts Commission, Parks& <br /> Recreation Department, and Public Works Department. <br /> RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> City Departments <br /> The lead Department responsible for implementing a Capital Improvement Project will be responsible <br /> for the following: <br /> • Ensure the potential for installation of public art into a capital project is considered. <br /> • When public art is incorporated into a capital project,the Project Manager or designee shall <br /> present concepts to the Arts Commission for recommendations. <br /> • Throughout the public art project development and construction phases, updates shall be <br /> provided to the Tukwila Arts Commission, and when appropriate the Tukwila City Council. <br /> • Actively participate in arts plans development. <br /> The Finance Department shall ensure that the Municipal Arts Fund is included in every biennial <br /> budget. <br /> Tukwila Arts Commission <br /> The Tukwila Arts Commission is responsible for the following: <br /> • Provide recommendations for small and large Public Art projects, recommendations must <br /> include a description of the project,location, statement of public benefit, and an estimated cost <br /> of project. <br /> • Provide letters of support or consideration to the Mayor and City Council when proposed large <br /> public art projects are presented. <br /> • Review and provide input to City staff when iblic art projects are in the development state. <br /> • Actively participate in arts plans development. <br /> FUND INCLUSIONS <br /> The Municipal Arts Fund maybe utilized for the following: <br /> • Purchase and/or Installation of Public Art. The City will seek artworks of the highest quality <br /> that: <br /> ✓ are integrated and coordinated within the City, <br /> ✓ reflect the scope,scale,and character of the site, <br /> ✓ represent diversity in art form,artists,and audiences served, <br /> ✓ are geographically dispersed, <br /> ✓ demonstrate a favorable cost/benefit to the community, <br /> ✓ are safe and easily maintained, and <br /> ✓ are technically feasible,structurally sound,and not prone to damage by weather, <br /> vandalism,vehicles etc. <br /> • Development of Public Art Plan, Cultural Art Plan or other related arts plans. <br /> • Enhancement of an existing piece of Public Art. <br /> • Add additional funding to a Public Art project. <br /> • Maintain and repair of existing Public Art. <br /> • Add to the existing rotating art program within the City through the purchase of professional <br /> paintings, sculptures, and other mobile media. <br /> 2 <br />
