MUNICIPAL ARTS FUND: The designated fund for which 1%of qualifying Capital Improvement Projects <br /> for which art is not integrated into is transferred, and together with such other funds that the City of <br /> Tukwila from time to time may transfer into said fund,for the purpose of incorporation, acquisition, or <br /> otherwise providing for the advancement of public art within the City of Tukwila. <br /> QUALIFYING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: Projects include Parks and Public Works Capital <br /> Improvement Projects. 1%of the City funded portion of Capital Improvement Projects shall be <br /> calculated based upon construction cost identified at the time the project is funded, and shall exclude <br /> any City funded amount for the acquisition of real property, demolition, or equipment.This shall be a <br /> fixed amount and shall not fluctuate with future project budget adjustments. <br /> STAFF: Employees of the City of Tukwila <br /> TEMPORARY ARTWORK: Artwork that is part of a portable collection,has a non- permanent lifespan, <br /> and/or is displayed for a pre-determined period of time. <br /> TYPES OFPUBLICART PROJECTS BYSIZE <br /> • SMALL PROJEas: Small art projects are those with a budget less than or equal to $40,000. <br /> Small projects require input and recommendations from the Tukwila Arts Commission and are <br /> forwarded to the Mayor for final approval. <br /> • LARGE PROJECTS: Large art projects are those with a budget in excess of $40,000. Large <br /> projects may be more complex`'and time-consuming in their execution and in some <br /> circumstances may require the contracting of a Public Art''Contractor. Large Projects <br /> require input and recommendations from the Tukwila Arts Commission,then will be <br /> forwarded to the Mayor for final recommendation then sent to the City Council for final <br /> approval. <br /> 5 <br />
