City of Tukwfla Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />Police Department - Mike Villa, Chief <br />April 14, 2016 <br />6:30pm- 8:OOpm <br />Members Present: Kim Karns, John Lindsay, Jan Bolerjack, Jun Castillo, Laurie Clark <br />Staff Present: Deputy Chief Linton, Chris Partman <br />Guest: Zak Idan <br />• Minutes for 3/10/16 meeting approved <br />• Chief's update <br />• Temporary staffing changes: <br />• Deputy Chief Linton is assigned as the project manager for the <br />Facilities Team <br />• As a result, Commander Mitchel is acting Deputy Chief <br />• Sgt. Rossi is acting Commander <br />• Sgt. Murphy has been transferred from patrol to Professional <br />Standards <br />• Detective Rock is acting Sgt. in patrol <br />In July Commander Drever, who is currently acting Technology Services <br />Director, will be attending the FBI Academy <br />Facilities report <br />• In March there was a first meeting with a Council work group <br />• The second meeting was about financing options and looking at tools <br />to finance a bond to put to Tukwila voters. <br />On 4/19 there was a meeting with the Finance and Safety Committee <br />to put together an outreach plan. Ideas were <br />1. Police and Fire Dept. open houses <br />2. Mailings <br />3. Tukwila Reporter Articles <br />4. Tukwila TV <br />5. Through citizen groups, such as COPCAB <br />In July the City council will decide if the measure will go on the <br />November ballot. <br />• The proposal currently is for: <br />1. A Justice Center for Police and Courts <br />2. Replace the North and Minkler Shops <br />3.
