SOUTHCENTER SQUARE <br /> MASTER SIGN PROGRAM <br /> NARRATIVE <br /> Objective: <br /> To create an effective sign program for the Southcenter Square Shopping Center which will <br /> maximize the effectiveness and exposure of tenant and shopping center signs while maintaining <br /> the projects overall attractiveness and aesthetic qualities. <br /> Proposal Description: <br /> Under the City of Tukwila Sign Code as adopted in August 2010, there are a number of signs <br /> which are allowed outright and others which are allowed with the approval of the Director of <br /> Community Development or the Board of Architectural Review (BAR). The signs proposed for <br /> this project including descriptions and discussions of each are summarized as follows: <br /> A. Monument Signs <br /> L Summary of Code Requirements Monument Signs <br /> a. Number of Signs Allowed: One per 400 feet of linear street frontage <br /> (With over 3,600 linear feet of street frontage, 9 Monument Signs are <br /> allowed) <br /> b. Allowable Sign Message Area 72 square feet per side/144 square feet <br /> total (Increases up to 90 square feet per side/180 square feet total may <br /> be permitted with Director Approval) <br /> C Total Allowable Sign Size: 96 square feet per side/192 square feet total <br /> (Increases up to 120 square feet per side/240 square feet total may be <br /> permitted with Director Approval) <br /> d, Maximum Height: 8 feet <br /> e. Maximum Width: 15 feet <br /> 2 Summary of Code Requirements Grand Monument Signs (Requires BAR <br /> Approval) <br /> a. Number of Signs Allowed: Two (each substituted for one or more <br /> Monument Signs) <br /> b. Allowable Sign Message Area: 172 square feet per side/344 square feet <br /> total <br /> C.
