city of nikwfia Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />Parks & Recreation Department - Rick Still, Director <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Arts Commission <br />FROM: <br />Dave Johnson, Parks & Recreation Manager <br />DATE: <br />January 11, 2017 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Proposed Arts Commission Ordinance Update <br />ISSUE <br />Consistent Ordinances related to Boards and Commissions <br />BACKGROUND <br />Most Tukwila boards and commissions have been around for many years and the ordinance(s) <br />governing them have been updated at various times. The City has recently been working to <br />update these various ordinances to provide for consistency in several areas. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The attached shows the proposed update to Chapter 2.30 of the Tukwila Municipal Code, <br />which outlines the Arts Commission. While there aren't any substantial changes, the update <br />provides a better outline of the appointment process, and addresses resignations and <br />meetings. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Commission reviews and provide immediately feedback. The update <br />goes to Council Committee of the Whole for discussion on January 23, 2017. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />- Proposed update to TMC 2.30 <br />
