Consultant <br />The City of Tukwila will work with a consultant /recycling technical assistance <br />specialist. <br />C. Schedule <br />First quarter, 2017 — December 31, 2018 <br />d. Program /Project Specifics <br />Business Outreach /Technical Assistance <br />The City of Tukwila will provide technical assistance to help businesses, including <br />City of Tukwila facilities and some multi- family complexes, start, or improve <br />recycling programs, waste prevention and purchase of recycled products either by e <br />mail, telephone, mail, or on -site visits. <br />City of Tukwila staff, assisted by a Business Recycling and Waste Prevention <br />Specialist (consultant to the City of Tukwila) will respond when individual businesses, <br />multi- tenant properties and property managers request assistance. We expect to <br />generate requests for recycling assistance by providing information about business <br />recycling services on the City of Tukwila's website, and by including information about <br />City- sponsored recycling programs in the "Tukwila Reporter," and with business license <br />mailings. We will send targeted postcards (and emails as possible) to Tukwila <br />businesses, advising them of free recycling service and technical assistance. We will <br />offer free desk -side recycling containers made of recycled plastic as an incentive to <br />businesses that start or improve recycling /waste reduction /stewardship programs. <br />We will strive to improve recycling, waste reduction and environmentally - preferable <br />purchasing practices at City of Tukwila facilities, and at City- sponsored events for the <br />public. <br />We will highlight outstanding business recycling programs throughout Tukwila <br />through "Tukwila Green Works" and "Tukwila Business Recycler of the Year" <br />programs. If other opportunities arise, we will adjust the work plan for greatest <br />effectiveness.
