<br />CALL FOR BIDS
<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the City of Tukwila, Washington at the
<br />Office of the City Clerk, in Tukwila City Hall, 6200 Southcenter Boulevard, Tukwila, Washington 98188, up
<br />to the hour of 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at
<br />10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 for:
<br />BOEING ACCESS ROAD BRIDGE REHABILITATION
<br />PROJECT NO. 99410408
<br />FEDERAL AID NO. BHM- 1380(003)
<br />The Work to be performed within 285 working days from the date of Notice to Proceed consists of furnishing
<br />all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and other work or items incidental thereto for:
<br />Construction of approximately 954 linear feet of street improvements within the right -of -way of
<br />Boeing Access Road, including but not limited to, Bridge Deck Repair and Overlay, Sidewalk
<br />Widening, Girders Rehabilitation, Bridge Seismic Retrofit and Compaction Grouting, and other
<br />work necessary to complete the Work as specified and shown in the Contract Documents.
<br />Each bid shall be in accordance with the bid documents available free of charge on -line through Builders
<br />Exchange of Washington, Inc. at http: / /www.bxwa.com. Click on: "bxwa.com ", "Posted Projects "; Public
<br />Works "; "City of Tukwila ", and "Project Bidding ". Bidders are encouraged to "Register as a Bidder" in order
<br />to receive automatic e-mail notification of addenda and to be placed on the "Bidders List ". This service is
<br />provided free of charge to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors and Vendors bidding this project. Contact
<br />Builders Exchange of Washington at (425) 258 -1303, should you require further assistance. Informational
<br />copies of any available maps, plans, specifications, and subsurface information are on file for inspection in
<br />the office of the Tukwila City Engineer, at the Public Works Department.
<br />All bid proposals shall be submitted according to the Information for Bidders and be accompanied by a bid
<br />proposal deposit in the form of a cash deposit, certified or cashier's check, postal money order, or surety
<br />bond made payable to the City of Tukwila, for a sum not less than five percent (5 %) of the amount of such
<br />bid, including sales tax. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory
<br />payment and performance bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit/bond shall be
<br />forfeited to the City of Tukwila.
<br />The City of Tukwila in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d
<br />to 2000 -4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of
<br />the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally- Assisted programs of the Department of
<br />Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that
<br />in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined
<br />at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not
<br />be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
<br />The City of Tukwila hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contracts entered
<br />into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit
<br />bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex or
<br />national origin in consideration for an award.
<br />The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding and make the
<br />award as deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
