Approval mfAgenda: Steve Mullet moved tn approve the agenda. seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. 4. Approval of Minutes: Steve Mullet moved to approve the minutes of January 18, 2017 meeting. Daniel Hurnkey seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. S. Unfinished Business: a. Arts Display Wall — Trisha Gilmore reported that our first artist display will begin in March and that we have 3 more applications to review at the next Commission meeting. The Commission verified the review process: 1) Applications will come in to staff, 2) Staff will meet Trisha Gilmore to conduct initial review of applications, which be 3) Presented to the Commission for final review. b. Arts Plan — Staff reported that the Call for Planning Artist is close to being complete and release. c. Art Piece at City Hall Report — Sheila Coppola reported that the piece has been looked at and appears to be in good condition, and suggested that we try to bring in someone to appraise the piece. Ms. Coppola will look into this and bring back information to the Commission. 6. New Business a. Access for All ballot initiative — Staff presented information on the Access for All ballot initiative through King County. The Commission unanimously favors support for this initiative and signed a support letter that staff will send to the appropriate County representatives. b. Review promo material for Arts Show and Commission — The Commission reviewed the promo material that Daniel Hurnkey prepared and all had favorable feedback. Staff will work with Mr. Hurnkey to finalize and print the materials for distribution. 7. Committee Reports a. Rainier Symphony— Alex Villella has joined this committee. The Committee reported that the last concert was very good. Committee members are willing to help put up posters and promote the b. Backyard Wildlife Art Show — The Committee met and finalized the outline for the show to include a theme category of "Our Native Environment" along with an Open, Student, and Commissioner category. Ribbons awarded to top 3 entries in each category. Cash prizes awarded to top 2 entries in theme, open, and student category. Staff will update the application form as well as print off the postcard for distribution. Committee likes the idea nf having some directional si0na0eand entertainment during the event to help draw visitors to the show on Saturday. Still working tn confirm entertainment. c Arts Promotion in Community — Helen En0uerra has joined this committee. Committee is interested in a greater Social Media presence. Staff suggests inviting a representative from the City's Communications Dept. to provide some guidance to the Committee on how to best carry this nut. Committee is also interested in tabling at the P&R Special Events and having some sort of J "
