AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, REPEALING ORDINANCE <br />NOS. 1841, 2003, 2143 AND 2178; REENACTING <br />TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 2.29, "EQUITY <br />AND DIVERSITY COMMISSION," TO UPDATE <br />ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE AND PROCEDURES; <br />PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND ESTABLISHING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, social justice is the fair and just relationship between individuals and <br />society; and <br />WHEREAS, social justice is based on the concepts of equity in human rights and <br />equality; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila realizes the need to keep advisory boards and <br />commissions relevant to the challenges facing the community; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, <br />WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Repealer. Ordinance Nos. 2003 and 2178 are hereby repealed in their <br />entirety. <br />Section 2. Repealer. Ordinance Nos. 1841 and 2143 are hereby repealed in their <br />entirety, thereby eliminating Tukwila Municipal Code Chapter 2.31, "Sister Cities <br />Committee." <br />Section 3. TMC Chapter 2.29 Reenacted.
