City of Tukwila
Allan Ekberg, Mayor
INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM
TO: Transportation & Infrastructure Committee
FROM: Bob Giberson, Public Works Director
BY: Pat Brodin, Public Works Manager
CC: Mayor Ekberg
DATE: August 25, 2017
SUBJECT: Public Works Sewer and Surface Water Capital Purchase
CUES MP+ Push Camera and Accessories
ISSUE
Committee approval of the purchase of capital equipment in accordance with City policy.
BACKGROUND
The City of Tukwila's purchasing policies require all unbudgeted capital equipment valued
over $5,000 be approved by Council Committee and the Mayor. This push camera was
budgeted in the Sewer and Surface Water's capital machinery and equipment budget for
2017, but the specific piece of equipment was not listed, therefore it requires Committee
approval.
This push camera will be replacing an old camera that is not compatible with the city's Cues
video equipment and Granite software.
ANALYSIS
The Cues MP+ Push Camera will allow us to reach structures and inspect sewer and storm
drainage lines that are not accessible with the camera truck. The wireless integration to the
truck will instantly add the video to the inspection library for accurate record keeping for an
additional $1,200.00. We will also be purchasing the 6" centering ball for $260.00, bringing
the total purchase to $11,560.00, and with sales tax, the grand total is $12,716.00.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is $7,500.00 each in the Sewer and Surface Water's 2017 capital machinery and
equipment budget, for a total of $15,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION
Committee approval to purchase the Cues MP+ Push Camera with 6" centering ball and
wireless integration to the truck for $12,716.00.
Attachments; Push Camera Brochure with photo
Price quote from CUES
https:lltukwilawa-my.sharepointcorrJper;,onOJekFaglur d_!kLkM- vm"f)v@%komeflWlnfo Memo CUES MP, Push Camera.docx
