Marie Parrish shared with the group that the World Dance Party will be <br />postponed to April because the building is not ready yet. <br />d. Storytelling Event — Confluence Tukwila: Arrivals, September 20, 6:30-8 pm, <br />Tukwila Library <br />Jonathan Joseph shared that this will be an ongoing, quarterly event. The <br />first one is focused on immigrant and refugee voices. Similar to the Moth <br />Story Hour on NPR, and rooted in Native American and other indigenous <br />cultures. <br />e. Taste of Tukwila Update <br />Mia reported that Parks and Rec staff confirmed that they have hosted such <br />events in the past, but that individual schools have begun doing their own, <br />and they have done them better than we could. Thorndyke's will be on <br />September 28th from 4:30-6:30 pm. <br />VIII. Reports of Commissioners and Staff/Announcements <br />• DCD has finalized a contract with Language Line to provide on -demand <br />interpretation service by phone at the front desk. Roy asked if it would be available <br />to staff out in the field, and helping people apply for jobs with the City. Something to <br />consider. <br />• TIBAC will meet on September 12th from 7-8:30 at Valley View Sewer District. <br />• Jonathan Joseph shared a screening of the film "Resilience" about the affects of <br />childhood trauma will take place on September 12th at 5:30 in Seattle, hosted by <br />Sound Discipline. <br />IX.
