Community Development & Neighborhoods Minutes September25, 2017 <br />Staff recommends that the City enter into a five-year lease with the Way Back Inn for continued <br />use of the property for homelessness prevention/intervention. Committee members expressed <br />support for continued operation of the Gregor House as temporary housing, and directed staff to <br />approach the Way Back Back Inn to begin work on an agreement. Councilmember Kruller asked <br />for information on who is the insurer in the event of a natural disaster such as earthquake. <br />UNANIMOUSAPPROVALTO DEVELOP AGREEMENT. <br />D. Tree Regulations Update <br />Staff updated the Committee on the status of the project to revise tree regulations to implement <br />new urban forestry goals and policies of the Comprehensive Plan. The Tree and Environment <br />Advisory Committee has been reconvened to assist with draft amendments to TMC 18.54 and to <br />definitions in the Zoning Code. Staff expects to present the recommended amendments to the <br />Planning Commission in November and December, with City Council review expected in February <br />and March of 2018. Chair Hougardy stressed the importance of broad public outreach on <br />proposed changes. Councilmember Kruller asked if the proposed amendments were based upon <br />a certain other city, and staff replied that many city codes were researched, including Lake Forest <br />Park, Portland, and Redmond. DISCUSSION ONLY. <br />II. MISCELLANEOUS <br />Councilmember Kruller referenced public comment that was given at the September 18, 2017 Regular <br />Meeting concerning re -parking recreational vehicles on City streets.
