City of Tukwila <br />Public Works Department -- Robin Tischmak, Acting Director <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Transportation and Infrastructure Committee <br />FROM: Robin Tischmak, Acting Public Works Director <br />BY: Greg Villanueva, NPDES Coordinator <br />CC: Mayor Allan Ekberg <br />DATE: November 9, 2017 <br />SUBJECT: NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) <br />Project No. 99341210 <br />Department of Ecology's 2017-2019 Biennial Stormwater Capacity Grant <br />ISSUE <br />Authorize the Mayor to sign and accept Washington State Department of Ecology's (DOE) Water <br />Quality Stormwater Capacity Grant for the 2017-2019 Biennial. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The 2017 State Legislature provided State funding for local jurisdictions to assist in the implementation <br />of NPDES Phase I and Phase II permit requirements. The City applied for $50,000 of the 2017-2019 <br />Biennial Stormwater Capacity Grant. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The City has been awarded $50,000 for the 2017- 2019 Biennial Stormwater Capacity Grant and the <br />agreement is now ready for signature. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />This State Capacity Grant is non-competitive, and no matching funds are required. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Council is being asked to approve Washington's State Department of Ecology's 2017-2019 Water <br />Quality Stormwater Capacity Grant Agreement for $50,000 and consider this item on the Consent <br />Agenda at the November 20, 2017 Regular Meeting. <br />Attachment: Water Quality Stormwater Capacity Grant Agreement No. WQSWCAP-1719-Tukwila-00050 <br />\\PWStorelPW Common$1PW Eng \PROJECTS \A- DR Projects\NPDES Program (99341210)0017 2019 Capacity Grant\InfoMemoCapacityGrantAgreementSignature.docx <br />1 <br />
