<br />ARTSCOMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />hĭƷƚĬĻƩ ЊБͲ ЋЉЊА ЎʹЉЉ Ʀ͵ƒ͵ ǒƉǞźƌğ /ƚƒƒǒƓźƷǤ /ĻƓƷĻƩ <br /> <br />1.Call to Order: Chair Trish Gilmore called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Attendance: <br /> <br />Commissioners Trish Gilmore, Cynthia Chesak, Alex Villella, Helen Enguerra, Brian Kennedy, Sheila <br />Coppola, Yuriko Rollins <br />Absent Daniel Humkey <br />Guests Carolyn Law, Lesley Bain <br />Staff Tracy Gallaway <br /> <br />3.Approval of Agenda: Helen Enguerra moved to accept the agenda. Cynthia Chesak seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />4.Approval of Minutes: Cynthia Chesak moved to approve the minutes of September 20, 2017 meeting. <br /> <br />Alex Villela seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />5.Unfinished Business: <br /> <br />a.Arts Plan Update Draft plan preview, Carolyn Law and Lesley Bain. Tracy will send the Arts <br /> <br />Commission members a copy of the draft plan. Editing of vision, goals, is encouraged. Edits will be <br />due by Wednesday, October 25 th at 5:00pm. <br />b.Arts Commission Budget 2017 Spending Plan Tracy presented a brief overview of some items <br /> <br />that the Arts Commission could support with their 2017 allocated budget. Tracy will email the Arts <br />Commissioners the complete list before the November meeting. The Arts Commission will discuss <br />th <br />the request and vote at the November 15 meeting. The 2018 Spending Plan will be discussed at <br />the January 2018 meeting. <br />c.Commemorative item for Steve Mullet <br /> <br />September meeting, this item was revisited. The Arts Commissioners agreed to table this <br />discussion until the Municipal Arts Plan has been completed. <br /> <br />6.New Business <br /> <br />a.Sheila shared photos of art from a Pennsylvania artist that is looking for a short-term rental space <br /> <br />for a 9 day show for summer of 2018. Ideas for potential spaces included Tukwila Village, Westfield <br />Mall, University of Washington, SGI property, etc. AC members are going to think about it and <br />come up with ideas. <br />7.Committee Reports (who is on each of these committees) <br /> <br />a.Rainier Symphony (Chesak, Villella, Rollins) Concert is this weekend, and there will be a <br /> <br />dedication to Steve Mullet at the Sunday afternoon show. Alex Villella mentioned that he was told <br /> Tracy will <br />research this and report to Arts Commission members via email with an update. <br />b.Backyard Wildlife Art Show (Coppola, Kennedy, Gilmore) The committee asked about the digital <br /> <br />copy or hard copy of signup sheet for the arts interest list that were generated from the 2017 Art <br />Show at the Backyard Wildlife Festival. Tracy will see if she can locate these items and send them <br />out to the committee. <br />1 <br /> <br />
