011 I HI, „I 1111 HI' II III III" 1111 III II 1110 HI, II mi 1,111 I, I 111111 III HI <br />Office of the Mayor <br />City of Tukwila, Washington <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, RUGBY is an international team sport that originated in England some <br />195 years ago, and was an Olympic event in 1924 and 1928, won both times by the <br />United States; and <br />WHEREAS, RUGBY was reintroduced in "sevens" format for men and women at <br />the 2016 Summer Olympic Games; and <br />WHEREAS, RUGBY is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States; and <br />WHEREAS, Major League Rughy will commence its inaugural season in 2018; <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, the Seattle Seawolves, playing at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, is one of <br />the original seven teams of Major League Rugby; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 22", the Seattle Seawolves will play its first home game <br />against the dreaded San Diego Legion; and <br />WHEREAS, the Seawolves intend on dismantling the Legion and sending them <br />packing back to California; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, 1, Allan Ekberg, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do hereby <br />proclaim April 22nd as: <br />Seattle Seawolves Kickoff Day <br />in the City of Tukwila and encourage all community members to join me in welcoming the <br />Seattle Seawolves to Tukwila and cheering the team onto its first victory! <br />Presented this 16th day,,,61Apri - 0 <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />
