Office of the Mayor <br />City of Tukwila, Washington <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, a healthy environment through recycling, waste reduction <br />and thoughtful use of resources is the foundation of a good society and is <br />critical to the future of Tukwila and the world at large; and <br />WHEREAS, Tukwila can help to preserve environmental integrity and <br />can help build a healthier society by addressing issues such as transportation <br />alternatives, energy usage and waste prevention; and <br />WHEREAS, Tukwila is a part of the Puget Sound region that prides <br />itself on the beauty of its landscape and clean waters; and <br />WHEREAS, Tukwila can help promote positive public land <br />management protecting its resources for the future enjoyment of its citizens; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Earth Day offers citizens and governments alike an <br />opportunity to work toward building a healthier and cleaner environment; <br />NOW THEREFORE, I, Allan Ekberg, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do <br />hereby proclaim April 22, 2018 as: <br />Earth Day <br />in the City of Tukwila and encourage all citizens to join me in recognizing this <br />special observance. <br />Presented this 16th day of April, 2018. <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor ) <br />
