City of Tukwila <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />Public Works Department - Henry Hash, Director <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Transportation and Infrastructure Committee <br />FROM: Henry Hash, Public Works Director /41 <br />BY: Bryan Still, Operations Manager <br />CC: Mayor Ekberg <br />DATE: July 6, 2018 <br />SUBJECT: Resolution to Surplus & Sell Two Vehicles for 2018 <br />ISSUE <br />Approve a Resolution to surplus a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria and a 2005 Honda GL1800 <br />motorcycle and authorize the sale to the town of Winthrop, WA. <br />BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS <br />The Ford Crown Victoria has 10,000 more serviceable miles and the motorcycle is near the <br />end of its lifecycle. They are both in safe and serviceable condition and may be transferred <br />to another public agency per the City's disposal policy No. 300-07, section 2C. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The average proceeds from auctions dating back to 2013 has been $1,507 for the Ford <br />Crown Victoria and $3,214 for the Honda GL1800 motorcycle. Selling the vehicles to <br />another municipal police agency would eliminate the need to strip the police lighting and <br />equipment from the vehicles. Not stripping the vehicles of equipment would save Tukwila <br />approximately $3,504 in labor ($1,392 for the Ford and $2,112 for the motorcycle). <br />The two pieces of equipment are fully depreciated and are currently valued at $4,721.00. <br />Selling these pieces of equipment to the town of Winthrop in an "as is" condition is now the <br />most practical solution for disposal. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Council is being asked to approve the Resolution declaring the two pieces of equipment as <br />surplus and authorizing their sale to the town of Winthrop and consider this item on the <br />Consent Agenda of the July 16, 2018 Regular Council Meeting. <br />Attachments Draft Resolution <br />Exhibit A Surplus Equipment Sales History & Photos <br />Letter dated June 25, 2018 from the Town of Winthrop <br />W.1 Shared Copy OnlyUeft Morton - Fleetl2018 Auction 8 Se812018 Sell Equipmentlnto Memo 2018 Equipment to be Sold 061218 docx <br />21 <br />I <br />
