The motion passed. <br /> <br />IV.Unfinished Business <br />Budget briefing. The Commission has spent $1,174.88 of its $3,200 budget so far in <br />2018. May 18 Community Event with Police at Showalter. Nichelle expressed a <br />desire for the Commission to be more visible and available to students and the <br />community. The group expressed agreement. Mia will give applications to Nichelle <br />to help recruit a high school student representative to the Commission. The <br />Commission also discussed how it could leverage relationships and other resources <br />to expand the budget. <br />Grant request – the Commission reviewed the request for $2,500. Nichelle shared <br />with the group that 30 students were able to participate in the KD Hall Foundation <br />event and they spent a day in the schools talking about how women can get into <br />non-traditional employment fields. Mikkell Roeland made a motion for a $1,000 <br />grant to the KD Hall Foundation. It was seconded by Nora Gierloff and unanimously <br />approved. <br />Training opportunities <br />o Melia and Mathew from the PSESD are available to provide training again <br />o Commission members supportive of opening trainings to other Boards and <br /> <br />
