Linton, Chief <br />COPCAB Minutes <br />August 9, 2018 <br />6:30pm-8:00pm <br />Members Present: Jun Castillo, Jerry Thornton, Tosh Sharp, Jan Bolerjack, Roger Arnold <br />Staff Present: Chief Linton, Chris Partman <br />Guest: <br />• Minutes for 7/12/18 meeting approved <br />• Chief s update: <br />• TPD just put a proposal in to the Finance and Safety Committee of the City <br />Council for Red Light Cameras. These are proposed for intersections with a <br />history of significant collisions. It will go before full Council on Monday, 8/13. <br />The purpose of the cameras is for safety, that is the reason for the proposed <br />intersections. These are not moving violations, they are infractions against the <br />car rather than the driver. Before any implementation, there will be an <br />extensive community outreach to educate the public about them. What happens <br />if people don't pay and get multiple tickets? Chief will look into it. <br />• Night Out Against Crime Report <br />• It was a lot of fun a great success. A lot of good parties and conversations. <br />• COPCAB Project: <br />• One minor change to intro paragraph. Hopefully, the app will be ready in a <br />month or less. <br />• Language vetting <br />• Survey will be mobile friendly link. <br />• Good of the Order <br />• Tosh, how do officers gain access to a secure building? They use a special <br />code and going into the future, will have access to the Knox boxes due to new <br />technology. <br />• John, it would be fun for City of Tukwila Employees to do a Tukwila Day at <br />Emerald Downs <br />• Roger, concerned about the survey and having accessibility for people who <br />are not English speakers. <br />• Jerry, wants to know how online reporting is going. The Chief will get stats <br />for him.
