Cythia noted that the City and the District may <br />need to look to outside funding sources, such as grants, to address maintenance and <br />equipment needs. <br />Our guest Curtis Goodman suggested a "Light the Theater" event using area theater groups <br />to help us raise the funds to pay for lighting improvements. Main theater groups in this <br />area - Renton Civic Theater, The Highlanders, Burien Actors Theater may be willing to <br />participate. <br />c. Outreach: No report. <br />d. Staff Report: <br />• Budget: Discussion regarding current expenditures and available funds (for the <br />remainder of 2018). <br />• Municipal Arts Plan: The Call for Artist(s) for the two Artist in Residency openings are <br />being promoted. There is an informational meeting on June 18, 2018 — 7pm at TCC. <br />• Summer events/meeting schedule: Cynthia moved that we have no July meeting, but AC <br />are asked to attend at least one community event. August meeting date TBD. Daniel <br />Humkey seconded this motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />10. Other: <br />a. Sheila Coppola attended the May meeting of the newly formed SeaTac Arts Commission — <br />the meeting included arts commissioners from Burien, Kent, Des Moines and Tukwila. <br />They are a new group with a lot of questions. All AC gets their fundraising differently (% <br />for arts, per capita allocation, etc). Staffing is different in every City. SeaTac would like to <br />be involved with other area commissions. <br />11. Agenda for Next/Future Meetings: Follow up from July community event engagement. <br />12.
