<br />The City of opportunity, the community of choice <br />TO: Mayor Ekberg <br /> Councilmembers <br /> <br />FROM: David Cline, City Administrator <br /> <br />DATE: September 12, 2018 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Report for September 17, 2018 Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />The City Administrator Report is meant to provide the Council, staff and community an update on <br />the activities of the City and on issues that concern Tukwila. Please let me know if you have any <br />questions or needadditional information about any of the following items. <br /> <br />I.Intergovernmental Update <br />King County City Managers/Administrators Monthly Meeting: On September 5 City <br />Administrator David Cline, Deputy City Administrator Rachel Bianchi and Senior Manager <br />Leon Richardson attended the monthly King County City Managers/Administrators meeting <br />held at the Tukwila Community Center. Topics discussed at the meeting included an update <br />from the Port of Seattle, a King County Economic Forecast presentation, an update from the <br />State Crime Lab, Municipal Hot Topics and an update from Sound Cities Association. <br />II.Community Events <br />Rave Green Run: The Rave Green Run which is hosted by the Seattle Sounders will be held on <br />Saturday, September 15th in Tukwila. Information is available at www.ravegreenrun.org. <br />Tukwila is one of the sponsors using funding from lodging taxes, which are dedicated to <br />promoting tourism. <br />Family Fest Postponed: The rescheduled Tukwila Family Fest will be held at Cascade View <br />Community Park on September 19. <br />III.Staff Updates <br />Project Updates <br />nd <br />42 Ave Phase III: Estimated Completion: November 2018 <br />Seattle City Light (SCL) should have all the primary distribution and transformers installed <br />and energized for their new underground systeminthe next fewweeks. After SCL’s <br />underground completion, the City’s construction contractor will start the power service <br />cutover for the residential properties, with SCL’s inspection. Comcast and CenturyLink’s <br />cutover work will begin after SCL’s work. There is minimal road construction at this time to <br />make way for the utility cutover work. <br />93 <br /> <br />
