Page 5 of 5 <br />October 11, 2018 <br />BAR Minutes <br />Noted Issues: <br />• The levee reconstruction is usually County or Federally funded and therefore has not used <br />our preferred levee profile. <br />• Shoreline Master Program regulations vary by jurisdiction. <br />• Support for allowing river overlooks and picnic areas to be larger. <br />• Clarifying that volunteers removing invasive species along the river will not require <br />monitoring for 5 years, unlike other mitigation projects. <br />Ms. Gierloff went over the process and timeline, which started with an open house on October 9th. <br />Commissioner Watters said that she agrees very much with having more flexibility to increase <br />recreation in the areas that makes sense in the code to consider.
