<br /> <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />April 18, 2018 5:00 p.m. Tukwila Community Center <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1. Call to Order: Chair Cynthia Chesak called the meeting to order at 5:03 pm <br /> <br />2. Attendance: <br />Commissioners – Trish Gilmore, Cynthia Chesak, Sheila Coppola, Daniel Humkey and Yuriko Rollins <br />Absent: Alex Villella, Helen Enguerra <br />Guests: Noe Rodriguez, Eliza Fox <br />Staff – Stephanie Gardner-Brown <br /> <br />3. Approval of Agenda: Trisha Gilmore moved to accept the agenda. Sheila Coppola seconded the <br />motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />4. Approval of Minutes: Sheila Coppola moved to accept the minutes, noting one correction. Trisha <br />Gilmore seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />5. Introduction of Guests: Arts Commissioners briefly introduced themselves followed by two guest <br />introductions. Eliza Fox, Tukwila resident since 2000, is a filmmaker and is interested in the <br />commission and the difference art can make in the community. Noe Rodriguez was born and <br />raised in Tukwila and continues to reside in the City. He is a musician and is interested in <br />performing arts and outreach in Tukwila. <br /> <br />6. Unfinished Business: <br />a. Fine Arts Show: the following has been confirmed: <br /> Music, Vivian Dao, a classical pianist will perform at the artist reception on May 11, <br />2018. <br /> Food: Trisha Gilmore made a motion to provide dessert bites consisting of fruit, <br />cheese, sweet treats and beverages. Sheila seconded the motion, the motion <br />passed unanimously. <br /> Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each category, arts <br />commissioners are exempt. <br /> Commissioners asked if there was follow-up to be completed with the judge. Staff <br />will coordinate, if needed. <br /> Tags: discussion around artwork tags included the need to add media to the tag. <br /> The Commission would like to use three “A” frame boards the day of the art show, <br />to be placed outside the entrance doors leading into the show. Daniel Humkey will <br />create signs for the frames and email to staff to print. <br />7. New Business <br />There was no new business. <br /> <br />8.
