<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />City of Tukwila <br /> <br />City Council Transportation & Infrastructure Committee <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE <br />Meeting Minutes <br />.IP?G<?L dzǵț ǴDzdzǺ ǷȜǵDz JȚGȚ (;T?FHON #IH@?L?H=? 2IIGț #CNS (;FF <br /> <br />Councilmembers: Thomas McLeod, Chair, <br />Staff: David Cline, Henry Hash, Hari Ponnekanti, Cyndy Knighton, Scott Bates, Steve <br />Carstens, Gail Labanara, Laurel Humphrey <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: Committee Chair McLeod called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />rd <br />Staff stated that after reporting last week that the 53 Avenue South project could be paved by <br />the end of December, the contractor communicated that the cost would be an additional $110k. <br />This is cost prohibitive, and paving conditions are generally better in February anyway. Chair <br />McLeod will report out at the Council meeting. <br /> <br />I. BUSINESS AGENDA <br /> <br />th <br />A. South 140 Street Pedestrian Improvements <br />Staff reported that the siting and design work is continuing along with communication with <br />the Director of the Abu Bakr Islamic Center. The Transportation Improvement Board meets <br />at the end of this week and the City should hear on the status of its grant application soon. <br />DISCUSSION ONLY. <br /> <br />B. Project Completion: 2017 Overlay and Repair Program <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of project completion and release of the retainage bond <br />to ICON Materials, Inc. for a project total of $563,162.38 for the 2017 Overlay and Repair <br />Project. This project provided hot mix asphalt paving at five locations and a portion of the <br />parking lot at Fort Dent Park. Construction was completed on October 27, 2017. Cosmetic <br />pavement warranty work was recently completed at Fort Dent Park. UNANIMOUS <br />APPROVAL. FORWARD TO NOVEMBER 19, 2018 REGULAR CONSENT AGENDA. <br /> <br />C. Project Completion: Baker Boulevard Non-Motorized Improvements Project <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of project completion and release of the retainage bond <br />to Road Construction Northwest, Inc. for a project total of $828,198.09 for the Baker <br />Boulevard Non-Motorized Improvements Project. This project included bike lanes and a <br />road diet on Baker Boulevard from Andover Park West to Christensen Road. <br />Reconstruction of the sidewalk access ramps at the intersection of Andover Park <br />East/Baker Boulevard was part of the Americans with Disabilities Act Program and <br />included with this project for cost savings. Work was physically completed on July 2. <br />UNANIMOUS APPROVAL. FORWARD TO NOVEMBER 19, 2018 REGULAR CONSENT <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />
