City Administrator's Report <br />November 14, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br />III. Staff Updates <br />Project Updates <br />• 42nd Ave Phase III: <br />Estimated Completion: December 2018 <br />Private service connections continue to be installed to properties along 42nd Ave S. Shrubs <br />and trees are being planted and the Gilliam Creek area is being landscaped. Driveways, a <br />short wall and sidewalks along 42nd Ave S have been poured. Seattle City Light is continuing <br />to work on private service connections. CenturyLink, Comcast and Zayo crews continue with <br />their new underground system. <br />• 53rd Ave S: Estimated Completion: March 2019 <br />The contractor has completed the joint utility trench and has started working on the storm <br />drains. Private electrical service connections are being installed. In mid -November, Seattle <br />City Light will begin installing electrical cabling and the contractor will begin roadwork for <br />installation of the curb and gutters. <br />• BAR Bridge Rehabilitation: Estimated Completion: February 2019 <br />The contractor has completed the deck overlay and is focusing on the work to complete the <br />new sidewalk along the south side of the structure. There also continues to be work beneath <br />the structure to extend the new drainage system. <br />• Sign Code Letters to Businesses: In anticipation of a busy holiday retail season Community <br />Development staff are sending out courtesy letters to businesses in order to educate retailers <br />on the City sign code regarding temporary and/or prohibited signs. Most initial letters lead to <br />compliance without going to a formal Request for Compliance.
