Linton, Chief <br />COPCAB Minutes <br />November 8, 2018 <br />6:30pm-8:00pm <br />Members Present: Roger Arnold, Kim Karns, Jun Castillo, Tosh Sharp, John Lindsay, Jerry <br />Thornton <br />Staff Present: Chief Linton, Chris Partman <br />Guest: <br />• Minutes for 10/11/18 meeting approved <br />• Chief s update: <br />• Chief Linton had a meeting on Nov 5 with Dr. Flip Herndon, the school district <br />interim superintendent. They would like to continue the tradition of meetings <br />between TPD and TSD on a regular basis about school safety. The intent of the <br />Chief is to add a second SRO to the district. <br />• Discussion about protocols for officers in an active shooter incident. <br />• Discussion about TPD Officer emergency medical kits for severe <br />injury incidents. <br />• Question about if we carry Narcan. Right now TPD does not, because <br />Tukwila has had a very low OD rate and this is a big commitment of <br />training and money. <br />• The Chief continues to interview officer candidates both lateral and entry level. <br />• Officer Dustin Johnson, a lateral from Baton Rouge, came in to work an extra <br />shift and took a call of a baby turning purple. He was able to clear the airway <br />and provided rescue breathing, saving the child's life. <br />• Question about the passage of I-940.
