<br /> <br /> <br /> City of Tukwila <br /> <br /> City Council Community Development & Neighborhoods Committee <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & NEIGHBORHOODS COMMITTEE <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 11, 2018 5:30 p.m. Hazelnut Conference Room, City Hall <br /> <br />Councilmembers: Kate Kruller, Chair; <br />Staff: David Cline, Jack Pace, Nora Gierloff, Derek Speck, Brandon Miles, Laurel <br />Humphrey <br />Guests: Vickie Hammond and Lisa Yohalem, HealthPoint <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: Chair Kruller called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />II.BUSINESS AGENDA <br /> <br />A. HealthPoint Development <br />Staff and representatives from HealthPoint briefed the Committee on current status of the <br />Health and Wellness Center development on the former motel site on Tukwila International <br />Boulevard and asked for input on specific priority items. Committee members discussed the <br />project and mentioned things like continuity of care, supportive health, education, partnership <br />with existing service providers, housing options, and facilitation of processes with a focus on <br />dignity. Chair Kruller stated that the community in need can speak for themselves and they <br />should have a voice in planning as well. Human Services and Community Connectors could be <br />tapped into for help with this. Councilmember Quinn mentio <br />as another tool. Councilmember Seal suggested partnering with ReWA, Global to Local, and the <br />School District, and Chair Kruller mentioned Vroom. HealthPoint is also considering housing <br />options as part of the development. DISCUSSION ONLY. <br /> <br />B. 2019-2020 Human Services Contracts <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of seven two-year human services contracts for a variety of <br />social services. Funding for these was already approved by the City Council through the 2019- <br />2020 Biennial Budget as part of the Human Services Departmental proposal. Agreements <br />include: <br /> Catholic Community Services Emergency Assistance ($45,400) <br /> Institute for Family Development PACT ($43,200) <br /> Multi-Service Center Emergency assistance program ($90,000) <br /> Family support & case management ($53,000) <br /> Renton Area Youth Services RAYS school based counseling ($110,184) <br /> Renton Area Youth Services Substance Abuse/Mental Health ($62,640) <br /> Tukwila Pantry Food bank ($74,000) <br /> <br />UNANIMOUS APPROVAL. FORWARD TO JANUARY 7, 2019 REGULAR CONSENT AGENDA. <br /> <br />
