Linton, Chief <br />COPCAB Minutes <br />December 13, 2018 <br />6:30pm-8:00pm <br />Members Present: Roger Arnold, Kim Karns, Jun Castillo, John Lindsay, Jerry Thornton <br />Staff Present: Chief Linton, Chris Partman <br />Guest: <br />• Minutes for 11/8/18 meeting approved <br />• Chief s update: <br />• Chief Linton on the holiday season enforcement. The two big emphasis <br />operations are on Black Friday and the day after Christmas. The Mobile <br />Command post and officers are stationed at the mall to keep everything safe <br />and under control. <br />• Description of the Mobile Command Post <br />1. Radio dispatch area, with a satellite dish to keep <br />communications in the case cell towers go down <br />2. Has 2 generators <br />3. Eight work stations <br />4. Mast camera for a territorial view <br />5. Ham radios for use in an emergency <br />• Had an annual PD potluck <br />• The City had an employee appreciation breakfast, paid for and served by <br />department managers <br />• Shop with a Cop was last weekend. Sponsored by Target, Tukwila Police <br />Guild, Jimmy Johns and other local businesses. The children participating are <br />selected by the Tukwila School District. <br />• Staffing, looking good on paper. One short of being "fully staffed". However, <br />many still need to complete a background investigation and then complete <br />training. It will be roughly 6 months before these folks are fully "street ready". <br />• Working on goals for next year. <br />• Planning in process for next year's Community Police Academy and Bulldog <br />Academy. <br />• Chief Linton is getting ready to retire from the Military. He is currently <br />wrapping up projects from his tenure.
