PARKS & E EC -RATION <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />November 14, 2018 5:00 p.m. Tukwila Community Center <br />1. Call to Order: Chair Cynthia Chesak called the meeting to order at 5:07 pm <br />2. Attendance: <br />Commissioners: Cynthia Chesak, Trisha Gilmore, Noe Rodriguez <br />Absent: Sheila Coppola, Yuriko Rollins, Helen Enguerra, Alex Villella <br />Guests: Olisa Enrico, Artist in Residence —Tukwila International Boulevard, Beverly Baker <br />Staff Liaison: Tracy Gallaway, Parks & Recreation Manager <br />3. Approval of Agenda: Trisha Gilmore moved to accept the agenda. Noe Rodriguez seconded the <br />motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />4. Approval of Minutes: Trisha Gilmore moved to accept the minutes. Noe Rodriguez seconded the <br />motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />5. Introduction of Guests: Olisa Enrico, Artist in Residence — Tukwila International Boulevard; <br />Beverly Baker <br />6. Unfinished Business: <br />a. Creative Consultancy Update — 4 candidates have been interviewed. Two additional artists <br />will be interviewed on 11.19.19 <br />b. 2018 Budget Update — Reviewed current budget status <br />c. 2019 Budget & Workplan Development — Moved to February Retreat <br />7. New Business — No items were brought up as new business. <br />8. Sub -Committee Reports <br />a. Visual Arts: <br />• TCC Art Wall — The subcommittee met today with the two Artists in Residence. <br />There will be 6 opportunities to showcase for 2019. One of the ideas is to assign <br />arts commissioners to fill a slot. <br />b. Performing Arts: <br />• Rainier Symphony — The next Rainier Symphony performances for the 2018-2019 <br />season will be December 15 at 7:00pm and December 16 at 3:00pm in the <br />Performing Arts Center at Foster High School. <br />• Cynthia Chesak reported that she did have a conversation with Liliana at the <br />Tukwila School District regarding the lighting needs in the Performing Arts Center. <br />The Pacific Northwest Theater Association are coming out to do a lighting <br />evaluation and recommendation on improvements. <br />c. Outreach: No report. <br />d. Staff Report: <br />1 <br />
