City Administrator's Report <br />January 16, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />Project Updates <br />• 42nd Ave Phase III: Estimated Completion: February 2019 <br />Seattle City Light (SCL) has three more private service connections to be completed for the <br />overhead to underground utility conversion process. Once complete SCL will start removing <br />the overhead power lines and topping the utility poles. Due to the recent storm damage, <br />Comcast has delayed their overhead wire removal to January 18. After all other utilities have <br />completed their overhead to underground utility conversions, CenturyLink will remove their <br />remaining overhead wires and the utility poles and the contractor will complete the sidewalk <br />installation, illuminate the street poles, and finish the other punch list items. <br />• 53rd Ave S: Estimated Completion: March 2019 <br />The contractor is finalizing electrical services to residences as well as utility work related to <br />installing a PSE gas line. It is anticipated that the base lift of paving will be installed in the first <br />quarter of 2019. <br />• BAR Bridge Rehabilitation: Estimated Completion: March 2019 <br />Contractor continues to work on the sidewalk over the railroad and is anticipating <br />completion by the second week of January. The contractor anticipates shifting the traffic <br />lanes in late January to complete incidental expansion joint work. Construction is on <br />schedule for completion in March. <br />• Strander Blvd Ext Phase 3: Design continues. Staff anticipates the contract with MENG <br />Analysis will be signed this week and the value engineering study wilt commence by the end <br />of January. <br />• Traffic Calming/Residential Safety: Public Works Maintenance has received the driver <br />speed feedback signs and other radar activated LED enhanced signs for use with the <br />program. Installation will begin as the schedule allows. <br />• Tukwila Village: On January 8 Economic Development Administrator Derek Speck provided <br />an update on Tukwila Village to the Tukwila Library Advisory Board.
