Linton, Chief <br />COPCAB Minutes <br />January 10, 2019 <br />6:30pm-8:00pm <br />Members Present: Kim Karns, John Lindsay, Jerry Thornton <br />Staff Present: Commander Boyd, Chris Partman <br />Guest: <br />• Minutes for 12/13/18 <br />• Chief s update: <br />• Biggest issue is currently staffing <br />• 3 lateral officers from Atlanta <br />• Entry level Jan 14 <br />• 2 new records specialists and pipeline positions will be filled in <br />anticipation of additional vacancies <br />• Candidates are in background, hopefully they pass and start soon <br />• Patrol staffing is improving enough for CPT officers to come back to <br />CPT from Patrol <br />• Officer Valdez is dealing with a large complex of homeless camps in <br />the area along the trail to the south of the Jack in the Box on Strander <br />and Interurban. <br />• Today there was a large grow house bust at S 160th and 48th Ave S <br />• Survey update — Tabled to February <br />• Good of the Order <br />• Jerry — The volunteer appreciation event at the Hotel Interurban was a very <br />nice function. Brought in article on Retired TPD Assistant Chief Robinson, <br />who left to become the Chief of Arlington PD. <br />• Chris — Community Police Academy will start in February <br />• Adjourned 6:57pm <br />Next meeting will be on Thursday, 2/14/19 6:30-8pm Duwamish Conference Room, <br />6300 Southcenter Blvd. 2"d Floor.
