Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />Public Works Department - Henry Hash, Director <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Transportation & Infrastructure Committee <br />FROM: Henry Hash, Public Works Director 0/ <br />BY: Michael Ronda, PW Project Manager <br />CC: Mayor Ekberg <br />DATE: April 12, 2019 <br />SUBJECT: CBD Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation — 2018 Construction <br />Project No. 91140203, Contract No. 18-040 <br />Project Completion and Acceptance <br />ISSUE <br />Accept the construction contract as complete and authorize release of retainage. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Notice to Proceed for Contract No. 18-040 with Michels Corporation of Salem, Oregon was <br />issued on April 30, 2018, for the 2018 CBD Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project. This construction <br />project installed approximately 3,660 lineal feet of cured -in -place pipe within the right-of-way of <br />Andover Park West, Tukwila Parkway, Baker Boulevard and private easements in order to <br />rehabilitate existing sewer pipes. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Construction was physically completed on January 15, 2019. The extended time for the contract was <br />due to a short section of failed liner that had to be removed and replaced. Two change orders were <br />executed during the project and several sections of sewer pipe lining were deleted from the contract. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The construction budget for the 2018 CBD Sewer Rehabilitation Project was $539,559.90, with a 20% <br />contingency of $89,926.65, which was not used.
