Office of the Mayor <br />City of Tukwila, Washington <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, at every level of society, women are leaders at the forefront of <br />progress. Serving in all levels of government, setting world records in sports, founding <br />groundbreaking companies, and fighting on the front lines of combat, women continue <br />to tear down barriers and shatter glass ceilings. <br />WHEREAS, such progress is not inevitable, and we must keep moving forward on <br />our journey to highlight the success, and ongoing commitment of advocates dedicated <br />to realizing a brighter future for women of all ages. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila is home to many students who will be a part of the <br />future workforce and will be celebrated during the Women on the Rise Gala. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila often serves as a convener to bring diverse groups <br />of residents, businesses and other stakeholders together with the goal of improving <br />people's circumstances and lives. The same can be said for the Gala, which will include a <br />vendor -sponsor exhibition that will provide employment and leadership resources for <br />participants. <br />WHEREAS, this conference is for multigenerational women from all backgrounds <br />and ages that will come together to actively seek opportunities to enhance their <br />leadership skills. <br />WHEREAS, Women on the Rise conference will act as a networking opportunity <br />for women and men alike to make future successful connections all while utilizing <br />leadership skills taught at the conference. <br />NOW THEREFORE, I, Allan Ekberg, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, Washington, do <br />hereby proclaim the month of September as: <br />Women on the Rise Month <br />in Tukwila and encourage employers, women and men to join this conference to share <br />leadership and networking skills that will help promote success in their future. <br />Presented this 14th day of September, 2018. <br />Allan Ekberg, Ma <br />
