Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />Public Works Department -- Henry Hash, Director <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Transportation and Infrastructure Committee <br />FROM: Henry Hash, Public Works Director / <br />BY: Scott Bates, Traffic Engineering Project Manager <br />CC: Mayor Ekberg <br />DATE: August 30, 2019 <br />SUBJECT: S 140th St Intersection Improvements — S 141st St RRFB Pedestrian Crossings <br />Project No. 91610405, Contract No. 19-031 <br />Project Completion and Acceptance <br />ISSUE <br />Accept contract as complete and authorize release of performance bond. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Notice to Proceed for Contract No. 19-031 with Westwater Construction Company of Renton, <br />Washington was issued on March 18, 2019 for the S 141 st St Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) <br />Pedestrian Crossings Project. This project included the installation of two new RRFB pedestrian <br />crossings at S 141st St and Tukwila International Boulevard to improve pedestrian safety. Construction <br />included pavement repairs, installation of solar powered RRFBs, ADA ramps, along with new <br />channelization and signage. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Construction was physically completed on May 3, 2019. No change orders were executed.
