Shopping is easier at Southcenter once again. <br />The public is invited to a kick -off celebration which will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, <br />October 13 on the new and improved road. Seattle Sounders FC players Leo Gonzalez and David <br />Estrada and assistant coach Ezra Hendrickson will participate on behalf of Seattle Bank. The <br />Sounders FC players will break the ceremonial ribbon with a soccer ball! <br />According to Tukwila Mayor Jim Haggerton, "We are very pleased with the speed of completion <br />of this project and re- opening the roads ahead of schedule. The new bridge and improved roads <br />will improve safety and traffic flow. This is a great example of why shopping is easier at <br />Southcenter." <br />The public is invited to park in Westfield Southcenter's parking lot behind The Cheesecake <br />Factory. The Cheesecake Factory is located at 230 Strander Boulevard, Tukwila 98188. <br />In March 2011 the City closed portions of Southcenter Parkway and Klickitat Drive for the <br />Southcenter Access Project, a $15 million road reconstruction and bridge installation project to <br />improve safety and traffic flow. The City provided incentives in the constriction contract to re- <br />open the roads as soon as possible.
