Tu <br />i! <br />Public Works Department - Henry Hash, Director <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Transportation and Infrastructure Committee <br />FROM: Henry Hash, Public Works Director ' ,y <br />BY: Greg Villanueva, NPDES Coordinator <br />CC: Mayor Ekberg <br />DATE: October 4, 2019 <br />SUBJECT: NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) <br />Project No. 99341210 <br />Accept Department of Ecology's Water Quality Stormwater Capacity Grant <br />ISSUE <br />Authorize the Mayor to sign the Washington State Department of Ecology's (DOE) Water Quality <br />Stormwater Capacity Grant for the 2019-2021 Biennial. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The 2019 State Legislature provided funding for local jurisdictions to assist implementing new NPDES <br />Phase II permit requirements. The City applied for $95,000 of the 2019-2021 Biennial Stormwater <br />Capacity Grant. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The City has been awarded $95,000 for the 2019 - 2021 Biennial Stormwater Capacity Grant and the <br />agreement is now ready for signature. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />This State Capacity Grant is non-competitive and no matching funds are required. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Council is being asked to accept Washington's State Department of Ecology's 2019-2021 Water <br />Quality Stormwater Capacity Grant Agreement for $95,000 and consider this item on the Consent <br />Agenda at the October 21, 2019 Regular Meeting. <br />Attachment: Water Quality Stormwater Capacity Grant Agreement No. WQSWCAP-1921-Tukwila-00053 <br />W:1PW Eng10THER1Forms101 TIC Items & Agendas\TIC Agenda Items\TIC 10-08-19104 NPDES Stormwater Capacity Grant Agreement101 Info Memo1921CapacityGrantAccept.docx <br />29 <br />
