Linton, Chief <br />COPCAB Minutes <br />March 14, 2019 <br />6:30pm-8:00pm <br />Members Present: Kim Karns, John Lindsay, Tosh Sharp, Roger Arnold <br />Staff Present: Commander Boyd, Chris Partman <br />Guest: Mayor Ekberg <br />• Minutes for 1/10/19 approved <br />• Chief s update: <br />• Biggest issue is currently staffing <br />• 3 Lateral Officers started from Atlanta <br />• 2 new records specialists <br />• Will have the Community Police Team back up and running soon with <br />the new staff. <br />• Officer Valdez, the Community Liaison Officer has been working on Homeless <br />issues. <br />• There is a huge homeless complex behind the Jack in the Box on West <br />Valley Hwy. It is a large encampment. Have been working with that <br />group to get folks resources and find other living space. <br />• TAC team still working on reports for the grow house a S 160th and 48th Ave S. <br />• Question about red light cameras. <br />• Have any been installed? Not yet, now looking at also installing <br />school zone speed cameras <br />• Question about the NRC. Is it open to the public? If there is an officer there, <br />they can assist, but the door is usually locked for safety. <br />• Survey update — <br />• Roger had sample translations. Mayor Ekberg offered to have the Mayor's <br />office pay for translation <br />• Distribution methods discussed <br />• Community Connectors and/or high school to proof translations <br />• Use CLT to distribute language specific surveys <br />• Good of the Order <br />• John — What was the deal at the mall on Saturday? A U-tube celebrity had <br />posted on social media that they should all show up at the mall and shut it <br />down.
