Walker and Bicyclist Safety Enhancement Projects Application Packet <br />1. GENERAL INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS <br />Introduction <br />The Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) administers funds from Chapter 405 H <br />of the federal highway safety block grant earmarked for increasing safety for walkers and <br />bicyclists (23 CFR § 1300.27). <br />Funding Opportunity <br />There is a total of $150,000.00 in federal funding available to support activities earmarked <br />for increasing safety for walkers and bicyclists. <br />Walker and Bicyclist Safety Enhancement Projects (Details in Exhibit 1) - <br />Maximum and Minimum Grants Available <br />Maximum grant amount: <br />$75,000 <br />Minimum grant amount: <br />$30,000 <br />Who is Eligible to Receive WTSC Grant Funds <br />• Washington State agencies. <br />• Federally recognized tribal governments <br />• Cities, counties, and their sub -agencies <br />• Non-profit organizations with existing IRS 501© (3) status <br />• Public schools (and private schools with non-profit status) <br />Prior recipients of these funds are eligible to apply for new funding. <br />Note: Groups that do not fit one of these categories may still be able to receive these funds <br />if they can get an eligible organization to apply on their behalf. The Non -Profit Assistance <br />Center, (206) 324-5850, info(aD-nacseattle. orq, or a United Way agency in the area maybe <br />able to help find an eligible organization to submit an application. <br />Match Requirements <br />Walker and Bicyclist Safety Enhancement Projects <br />There is a requirement for a minimum of 10 percent cash match on these projects. <br />Maximum points for this item come with match amounts that are greater than 10 percent of <br />the award amount. Match requirements are detailed in Exhibit 1 E. <br />Request for Applications (RFA) Coordinators <br />The RFA Coordinators are the sole points of contact in the agency for this procurement.
